Here is our Lucca inspired table…

The Duomo at Lucca was built originally in 1063 and has a strange mash-up facade. There is a myth about why all the decorations and columns are different. Apparently there was a competition to design the columns with the winning pattern to be used across the facade. Every artist made a column and the canny people of Lucca, liking them all, decided to just use all the competition entries without paying the artists…

The Tor Art table was inspired by the Duomo at Lucca - a wall city close to Carrara - which was decorated with beautiful folk and geometric patterns.

As part of the Tor Art commission, created a painting for their conference table..

As part of our painting marathon in Italy, we were working at Tor Art in the mountains above Carrara. Tor Art is a marble sculpture art studio who specialise in using new technologies such as 3d scanning and robots(!) as well as traditional sculpting techniques.
